Skills Profile

We have a broard range of skills and experiences using a using range of Web, Software and Media development tools and programing languages. From this we have selected a specific set of skills and tools which we use to develop your solutions.

There is alot of overlap between our three skill-sets but for simplicity we have seperated our skills and tools into them in to Web, Software and Media Skills.

Web Development

The main Web Development tools we use are:

• Macromedia Flash - for dynamic multimedia content such many of our sites found in our new media portfolio.
• Macromedia Dreamweaver - for general content, formatting and layout as you see here.
• Macromedia Fireworks - for editing, formatting and optimising graphics and for creating animated rollover buttons and popup menus.
• We also use some Microsoft Frontpage features for speed of development and Quicktime for movies.

Languages we used in Web development include:

• HTML, JavaScript and VBScript - for general interactive content. This includes basic animation and form processing.
• Microsoft ASP.NET using C# and Visual Studio - this is our main framework, language and development environment we use for serious web applications. Using C#, we are often able to share code between our desktop and web based software.
• XML and associated technologies are used for basic data storage and data transfer between website components or web services.

Our main Database we recommend and use is Microsoft SQL Server. We also use MS Access and MySQL databases for basic storage. For non-relational data we also use XML files and other mechanisms depending on your requirements.

Software Development

Microsoft Visual C#.NET is our main language and framework we use for Windows based Software Development development.

This covers development on all Windows based platforms - including Windows XP, 2003 Server and soon Windows Vista - plus Windows CE/Windows Mobile for Pocket PCs and Smart Phones.

Other key technologies used include:

• Crystal Reports by Business Objects - for report generation from data stored in relational databases.
• MS SQL Server - our main database platform. We have also used MS Access and also have experience with Oracle and Sybase platforms.
• We also provide some support for some clients for products written in Visual C++ and Visual Basic.

Our backgrounds have included designing, implementing and managing significant C++ projects on Windows, UNIX or cross-platform in a number problem domains, but currently our main focus for Software Development is Windows based using C#.NET.

Media Development

We have a number of digital still cameras for almost any requirement, plus professional video cameras and recording equipment.

With these and the tools we employ - we can create professional portraits of people and products, create logos and add orignial video elements your own your website. Manex can also create professional Adverts and Videos or Commercials which can be developed in partnership with your website needs.

Tools we use include:

• Adobe Creative Suite Pro - this includes Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign which we use to edit, mask and filter digital photography, draw professional images and lay out components to create logos and other visual elements.
• Apple's Final Cut Studio - this includes the popular Final Cut Pro - for editing and creating movies, Motion for creating complex animations, Soundtrack Pro used to edit and design sounds and music and DVD Studio Pro for creating professional DVDs.
• Cubase Studio - Music production system for powerful music and sound creating and editing.
